Original Product
The 3 steps of reverse engineering:
1. Visual Analysis: Identifying visual design elements and principles. Key design elements of the original clock were noted and described in the engineering notebook.
2. Functional Analysis: Identifying functions, inputs, and outputs by following Black Box Model. Using the BBM, the inputs, function, and outputs of the clock were written down in the notebook.
3. Structural Analysis: Documenting and Analyzing internal structures of a pencil sharpener. The clock was reversely engineered and parts of the product were listed and recorded in the notebook (with measurements and count).
